Oviedo Filarmonía premieres Vísperas by Jesús Rueda

On Saturday March 15, the Oviedo Philharmonic Orchestra, directed by Lucas Macías, will premiere Jesús Rueda's Eve at the Príncipe Felipe Auditorium in the Asturian capital. This work is the result of a joint commission from the Oviedo Philharmonic and the Orquesta Ciudad de Granada, which will perform it again on April 11 and 12 in the Manuel de Falla Auditorium in Granada, also under the direction of Lucas Macías.
"Vísperas develops an orchestral discourse that suggests environments and atmospheres of La Regenta, Clarín's powerful novel. Perhaps the image that stood out the most in my memory was that of the cathedral of Oviedo, its shadows, the resonant spaces, and that enigmatic hour in which time is paralyzed, between day and night, and which announces the blue hour, the eves.
