Next Sunday, February 9 at 6 p.m., the Camerata Eduard Toldrà, under the direction of Marcel Ortega i Martí, will premiere Degrees of Presence by Arnau Brichs in Catalonia. It will do so in a shared program with Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4, at the Auditori Eduard Toldrà (Vilanova i la Geltrú).

The world premiere of the work took place in Paris on June 15, 2024, as part of the ManiFeste Festival, where it was awarded the ÉLAN AWARD 2024.

The author says of the work:

"Degrees of Presence" is a piece for orchestra in five movements that explores the idea of ​​acoustic "presence." In acoustic terms, direct sound is that which we perceive directly from the instrument, while indirect sound is that which reaches us through its reverberations in space. These "presences" can be perceived in different degrees: intimate (soft and direct), distant (strong and indirect), close (strong and direct) or far away (soft and indirect). Each of these degrees is represented in a movement within the piece.
